G&C Colors, S.A. is a company that specializes in the production of inorganic pigments, among which synthetic iron oxides and chromic oxides, both under the brand ChromaFer, fill an outstanding position.
Of all the inorganic pigments, the most common form is oxide, TiO2 (white pigment), Fe2O3 (iron oxide), and Cr2O3 (chrome oxide green)
Currently for each ton of organic pigment, 20 tons of inorganic pigment are used.
In global figures for inorganic pigments, the titanium dioxide (white pigment) represents about 70% of total usage, followed by iron oxides, with more than 10%.
The group of iron oxides is compounded by: Fe2O3 (subgroup of red), FeOOH (iron hydroxide subgroup yellow) and Fe3O4 (black subgroup).
The different products made in cement-based constitute more than70% of global consumption of iron oxides. 25% of iron oxide production is intended for the manufacture of paints of all types, and the remaining 5% is distributed in residuary applications such as masterbatches (colored plastics), abrasives, decorative paper, asphalt, etc.
