The grades shown in our colour card can be used in most paint applications, however, there are limitations regarding the yellow, black, brown and orange iron oxides in high temperature applications (those that do not have a "T" after the reference number), as at temperatures above180ºC they may turn more or less red, depending on the temperature and how long they are heated.

There is no heat-fastness limitation regarding the use of the red grades in plastic application.

The iron oxides that do have a "T" after the reference number, such as the black 3003T, brown 6045T and yellow 9610T have been treated in order to improve their heat-fastness, comparing to the yellow, black and brown standard grades, but, in all cases, prior testing is still recommended.
